Now it sounds faintly possible that a handful of Hopi Indian voters somewhere out on the reservations and polling stations outside of Las Cruces , New Mexico could decide history not just for the USA, but for Ukraine, possibly Europe and even places like Mongolia ! The question remains, what has Mister Trump done for the First Nations, and conversely what has Ms Clinton done for them recently. Could some GOnzo foreign or domestic entities run a covert, election shifting operation, from out on the Rez ? And if so, is Tommy Lee Jones ready, AKA Men in Black , prepared to foil the Alien hive mind ? Would a Clinton win cause Sarah Palin to spark a seccesionist referendum to have Alaska become a Free and sovereign state and possibly rejoin economically with Russia, nominate / Donald Trump to become Prime Minister of the Alaska Free Republic ? Is it remotely possible that Trump will follow nearly the exact same pathway as Victor Yanukovych ? Imprison his chief political rival, engage in rampant corruption, sparking massive demonstrations, flee the country to join Snowden in exile, while Russia seizes Alaska? Well, the last time I checked , they don't speak Russian in Alaska, and it probably wouldn't be a welcome move, but hybrid warfare is highly complex, and in the long view many things are possible, when the dominant paradigm becomes highly problematic.
We are 4 days out from an almost anything goes scenario emerging : Of course, I like my country the way it is, and don't want to see any specific changes, update the management with a younger set of people, maybe sort out some of the excess complexity of the Tax codes, figure out better ways to fight lobal glorming and the like, improve our education system, and continue to promote innovation, freedom of the press and the right to peacefully question authority.
I hadn't got the memo on the science surrounding Nuclear weapons detonation, something about Nitrous Oxide gets produced , which is really bad for the Ozone and the atmosphere, doesn't Ukraine deserve a reverse credit for Climate change ? , a carbon sequestration credit for eliminating the third largest Nuclear arsenal in the World ? Or did they get that payment in secret ? The only thing I've heard they got out of the deal was newer beds in the Oprhanges , but maybe the procurement contracts for Orphange sheets and towels helped to buy the fleets of expensive cars and Luxury Swiss watches owned by some of the Political elites: One has to deliver supplies to the orphange in style, and on time.

Just because I'm some guy who innocently showed up at the top of the Metro Escalator on the 10th of December, 2013 with his roller bag suitcase and witnessed a revolution, doesn't make me special or outstanding in any way. But I do seem oddly positioned as an intermediary, nobody really pays this blog much attention anyway. I don't, have never worked for, or received any special benefits from my government, I pay my share of taxes to the City of San Francisco, the State of California, and the USA. My main purpose in being there, was to hang out with friends, write some fiction and get a breather from a Bay Area life style I wasn't jelling with totally at the time.
In my follow up visit after the Valentine's Day Massacre of February2104, was my intent, to continue witnessing the unfolding history and get to know people one to one, shortly before or after the Ukraine elections in May/ June 2014 , I had the chance to Meet Nadiya Savchenko one night , she and her krewe (who Dat !) invited me to sit with her, have some shots together with her Aidar Battalion buddies. She gave me her phone number and asked me if I wanted to parachute with her, I felt that she was "regular people" she's mostly quiet natured, inwardly animated like me, and lots of people hadn't got the memo that she studied Drama in school before going in the military, she's got an instinct for it, in an understated way that's masterful..

Nadiya is incredibly brave, and she has an unmatched brand of Patriotism and fearlessness like no other.
a few weeks ago, I was starting to wonder why she had dropped so far out of the News cycle. Today , she seems to suffer a death of a thousand cuts, Ukraine people tell me, they dish out a lot of negativity on her: "she should not be saying we need to be apologetic, she says things unhelpful, people even disrespect her saying that "She's uneducated" or "she wasn't that good of a fighter" "she's terribly presumptive to say she can be president of Ukraine"
Some people are simply handed the keys to a conflict, as heavy and sharp, cutting as those keys may be, no sane person would envy her burdens.
be that as it may, she makes her own choices, while she may be getting some guidance from Yulia Tymoshenko, who does have a good instinct for Mister Putin's motives, Nadia does what she feels right, obsequiousness isn't a component of her character. I stand by her, in a figurative sense as my friend. Nobody wants this World War 2 style armed clash in Eastern Ukraine to spread through Europe and possibly lead to a usage of Nuclear weapons. As far as I am concerned , Nadia is out to help create and keep the peace, to find an answer, end the bloodshed.
You could say that she holds some of the keys to decoupling the conflict from the Nuclear War Scenario board, and returning her Nation to one of peaceful Friday night fist fights between rival underworld elements, and the normal operations of an emerging capitalist economy.

As to the revelations of personal wealth of Ukraine's elected representatives, who really cares, does one envy their having to enlist private security all the time to stay safe ? These are from business dealings, of a post Communist, emerging economy as it were. I am sure the DUMA in RUssia is closely watching the outcome of the filings, hoping Ukraine will consume itself in internal struggle, and at the same time, worrying that they'd be subject to the same requrements of scrutiny and examination, it's a game of who has whose back nowadays. The Boys who went to war to defend their territory equipped with gear left over from 1948, will be asking if their preparedness to defend their Nation was limited by people in power who didn't pay their share in taxes, but why should anybody have paid taxes when a thief like Yanukovych was in power ? Ukraine was the land of Charity for thieves. Now it must survive the Winter of Hope, to emerge in a spring of greater opportunity for all.
People vote with their feet if they can't get a fair deal from their government, and the FSU brain, capital drain isn't slowing down, the last time I checked : what Ukraine has going for it is that their best and brightest want to stay around for the show and see their world become a better, healthier, happier, smarter place . I have confidence and respect for the Poroshenko government doing it's job, for the sake of how history will see them.
