Peace through DVORÁK ?

It's a pity that Secretary Kerry can't stay over an extra day after the talks conclude in Lausanne on Saturday, as The Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (OCL) appears to be doing a lovely performance the next day, one can only hope that some adroit shift in tactics, a session of late night drinking followed by the midnight Banya and some end of the road comradarie with Mister Lavrov- they might not fix everything , but maybe could sort through some better sense of understanding about shared mutual concerns. Alas, it's just rush , rush , rush in this frantic dash to complete all these intricate deals to cement President Obama's place as best possible, in the history books.

I hope there's not too many chores for John Kerry waiting him in Merry Old ENgland afterwards, he really should try to catch the concert, as I hear that pianist Nikolai Lugansky will present a short piece he's recently composed, "Ode to the Black Sea Dolphins"

it looks like a splendid Fall performance awaits, wish I was going to be there for it :

it has been commented that the talks were vaguely organized and somewhat hasty, and they did indeed rush out of the talks in a Non European fashion. Russia is indeed playing on a 3 level chess board , while cutting deals with India's Modi http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/10/15/world/asia/ap-as-india-russia.html?_r=0
(I am hearing on twitter that India's petrol prices increased 30% from 2009 to the present, will the Essar Oil deal  maintain/ freeze those price levels, or bring greater fluidity to the market? They seem to blame the price increases on corrupt dealings of Congress Party, yet these narratives are highly subjective things)
And how does all this relate to the "accident" that lead to the demise of ELF Total's executive
Christophe de Margerie, was the snowplow an eerie coincidence with the snow plow that was featured in the killing of Boris Nemtsov? Does a certain party simply like to utilize a big machine like a snowplow as a tool for doing business ? Like a signature ? that may be a stretch, but maybe not.

Mister Hollande has decided he won't allow his Nation's principles :
Liberté, égalité, fraternité  to be pushed aside according to the concerns about Syria,
and perhaps it won't be Au Revoir Hollande next year ? Of course it's easy to comprehend their are many facets to the Syrian issue, there's no easy way to deal with it now.

I am hopeful the Government in Ukraine can have some success in swaying world opinion that it is actually not a 3 way chess board, it's a simple 2 dimensional game with set rules:  you win, lose or forfeit the game. Of course the rhetoric is terribly amped up and dire scenarios are lurking everywhere. Ukraine won't forget who brought this senseless, unproductive conflict across a common border, nor will they forget the children and Parents they lost in it.

While the USA has often employed a honey glazed strategy to engage with Ukraine, we did a lot of helpful things and strove to improve the lives of the regular people as a matter of policy. (call me foolishly biased ) And of course our psychology and economy was never seriously damaged by the @2nd WOrld War2

While RUssia may have bought "half the Coastline of Bulgaria" or half / 2- thirds of the real estate development in Crimea,   much of this was financed by crafty schemes that were essentially stealing from the "regular people" in RUssia  (via non payment of taxes ) and variant forms of "borrowing" from Ukraine's  banks that went into insolvency and had to get bailed out by Ukraine's central bank.
Owning real estate does not entitle foreign entities to own another People's government, the last time I checked it.
